Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Hip hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform choreography. Therefore class includes upper and lower body conditioning as well as a rigorous warm-up to help prepare students for more intense movements.
Level I (60 minutes) - M. Lane
This class serves as an introduction to hip hop dance for the younger student. Using games and music, the class focuses on rhythm, musicality and basic footwork. Recommended for ages 5-8.
Level II (60 minutes) - A. Perkins
Dancers will learn more incorporates more intricate choreography and movement with faster-paced routines and music. Level II is great for beginner/intermediate dancers looking for a fun, upbeat class. Recommended for ages 9-12.
